Repair or replace a concrete driveway

Paver working on a street beside homes

A concrete driveway is a set of slabs, not one endless piece of stone. Joints are there so the concrete can move. When a crack stays inside one panel and the rest of the drive is still even, repair can be the practical path. When the crack runs across panels, the slab has dropped, or the surface is spalling over a wide area, replacement is usually the clearer conversation.

Water is the detail that changes the answer. A driveway that ponds against the garage, the house, or the public walk is not only a surface problem. The next slab has to send water away from the building. Filling a crack does not fix a slope that was never right.

Replacement means the failed concrete comes out, the base is prepared, and a new driveway is placed to the layout that was agreed. That is different from a new driveway on an empty lot, and it is different from a small panel repair. Access for removal, the thickness the use requires, and any drainage work all belong in the scope.

BRZ looks at the driveway before recommending a direction. Homeowners, builders, and residential developers can use the same review: what is cracked, what has settled, and where the water goes. No standard price is listed, because size, removal, drainage, and access change the work.
